Updating an older system with one of OmniTek's legacy integration products helps organizations to stay competitive, as they get access to new features which are only available in new and expensive products.

Legacy Integration

Prepress workflow systems developed before the advent of the PDF format have a certain elegance and undoubted value. After many years of use, no one wants to dump a working system, still in excellent condition - a much better option would be to upgrade them, to be able to cope with the new challenges. After all, print itself hasn't changed a lot, just the input format evolved to be PDF instead of TIFF/IT or PostScript.

OmniTek's legacy integration products are the logical choice for all prepress environments where a significant amount of older Scitex-, Creo- or Kodak-originated systems are still in use. Those computers and their software were built to last, and an experienced staff can still perfectly complete most of the jobs by using them. In it's most simple form, OmniTek's Brisq2GO simply adds the missing module, which reliably converts output jobs to the format used today: PDF/X. Traps, Spot Channels and all other page-related data are retained perfectly. On top of that, the produced PDFs are free of fonts, and all problems associated with mismatched font-embedding and missing glyphs.

On a higher level, Brisq2GO can create fully imposed signatures, dropping all pages into the flat with correct orientation and positioning. Registration marks, color bars and sluglines can be added, while the integrity of the original layout is ensured. A unique "bi-directional' connection can be created, too. In this special setup the jobs are first RIPped, trapped then handed over to the Brisque, using it's original input format.

All the legacy integration solutions offered by OmniTek can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems, without breaking any pending warranties. As the additional software is highly optimized for performance and for a minimal foorprint, it can be deployed with a minimum of effort and for a remarkably low cost. All legacy integration products can be later upgraded to OmniTek's full-blown workflow system, called SmartMove.
